I understand that there are inherent risks in traveling abroad to share the gospel, and that in some instances the country to which I will travel may prohibit and/or persecute those who share the gospel with nationals. I have been advised to read the travel warnings issued by the U.S. Department of State and Centers for Disease Control associated with the country to which I am traveling.
I understand that this mission trip involves risk of:
delay or cancelled travel by my own decision or that of an airline, other transportation service provider, or foreign government;
sustained by any transportation failure such as car, bus, train, or airplane
theft or loss of my personal belongings;
acquiring the diseases and
illnesses listed on the US Department of State and Centers for Disease Control
illnesses that may cause nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, fever, and
other gastrointestinal maladies;
insect and animal bites
which may cause a variety of serious medical conditions;
serious physical injury;
exacerbated medical conditions due to a lack of access to health care;
possibilities of financial loss and physical harm; and
I further understand that this trip may require strenuous physical activity that could lead to serious personal bodily injury. I have consulted with my physician or declined the opportunity to consult with my physician regarding my physical condition to travel abroad and the inoculations and vaccines which I might need to protect myself abroad. I have either obtained a clean bill of health for international travel or declined to request the same from my physician. I have furthermore obtained all recommended inoculations and vaccines that I might need to protect myself abroad or declined to obtain the same from my physician.
I believe that despite these risks that:
the gospel of Christ must be carried around the world (Mt. 24:14, Mark 13:10);
I am called to take the
gospel of Christ around the world (Mt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8);
it is costly to follow
Christ (Lk. 14:25-35); but, “neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate [me] from the love of God in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:38-39);
I can endure all things
through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:12-13, 19);
God is for us and none can be against us (Rom 8:31);
any trial I face will
result in my steadfastness and sanctification (James 1:2-4); and therefore,
taking risks is right for the cause of Christ.
Christ is so valuable that the hope of his immediate and eternal fellowship after death frees me from the self-serving fear of these risks and enables me to take these risks for the eternal good of others. With no special revelation from God regarding the outcome of this trip I take these risks trusting in the all-providing, all-ruling, all-satisfying Son of God, Jesus Christ.[i]As such, being fully informed as to the risks involved in this international mission trip, I voluntarily assume all risks of loss, injury, or death associated with this international mission trip.In doing so, I, my heirs, agents, executors, trustees, and assigns (hereinafter “we”) forever release and discharge the For All Mankind Movement, its officers, employees, affiliates, agents, and assigns (hereinafter “them”) from any and all claims, actions, suits, demands, and other legal actions which we have or may have as a result of this trip, and further indemnify and hold them harmless from any loss or liability which results from my participation on this trip.
